Are you interested in establishing a chapter in your area?

Starting an Alumni Chapter is relatively easy, and involves what Foresters do best: networking with each other.  Ideally, a chapter will serve as an extension of the Office of Developemnt and Alumni, helping the College connect with many more alumni, parents, and friends.  Below are simple steps you can take towards establishng a chapter in your area:

Identify lead volunteers
Even if you don't know other alumni in your area, the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations might be aware of others in your area that might have an interest in establishing a chapter. 

Recruit volunteers to fill various roles
There are approximately six roles that will need to be filled.  That doesn't mean you need six people. One person can easily fill two roles. The structure of six roles is just to illustrate the direction you should be moving.

Begin training on the various roles
To that end, you'll need to establish a presence on the Alumni Gateway (this website), which will involve some over-the-phone training with the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations. Other roles can begin connecting with Alumni Association Board committees to learn more about their areas of volunteer focus.

Schedule an event
Nothing says Chapter like action! As soon as you have a web presence, and some other volunteers, get an event scheduled and begin networking, socailizing and having fun like Foresters! The Office of Alumni and Parent Relations is here to help you with your networking and event promotions.

Communicate with Alumni in your area
Build your network and stay in touch.  Be sure to use the Alumni Gateway to facilitate communication, like posting class notes, building photo albums, scheduling events, or sharing news in general.
