The Board strives to maintain a diverse body in terms of gender, age, ethnicity, geography, professional skills, areas of interest, and viewpoints; therefore, Board members are selected on the basis of such practical considerations. As Board membership is restricted to 35 seats on a rotating three-year term, not all nominees may be invited to serve on the Board immediately. However, we do encourage those waiting to join the Board to assume leadership as at-large members on one of the following Board committees:
Admissions : Serve as liaison to the Office of Admissions to help recruit and encourage prospective Foresters to attend Lake Forest College.
Alumni Relations: Support alumni special events as well as young alumni and undergraduate activities.
Annual Giving: Serve as liaison to the Office of Annual Giving with a particular focus on alumni participation.
Career Advancement: Serve as liaison to the Career Advancement Center and provide oversight to the Mentor Program and Alumni Career Network.
